There are so many different options when it comes to eating out in London that it can be somewhat overwhelming choosing a spot to head out to for a bite to eat. Every different zone is filled to the brim with every type of cuisine you could imagine, from Far Eastern to fast food joints, and there is most definitely something for everybody.

The bustling Canary Wharf district isn’t lacking in options either, and for those living and working nearby, there is a great deal of choice. But where should you head to first? We thought we’d make your life a little bit easier and talk you through three of the best restaurants in Canary Wharf that we think you should try for yourself!

Bella Cosa

Everybody loves Italian food, and there is nothing nicer than Italian food done right! While there seem to be Italian restaurants dotted around just about everywhere you go, at Bella Cosa their chef hails from Brindisi, a region in Southern Italy, and he brings with him a wealth of knowledge of authentic Italian cuisine.

On the menu, you’ll find exciting dishes like fresh black ink lobster tagliolini, risotto carnaroli with summer vegetables, pea puree and black truffle, and braised Galician octopus with creamy cannellini beans and green peppers.

Whether you’re on a date, grabbing a working lunch, or having a family party, Bella Cosa is able to cater to all occasions, with amazing views over the river and a private dining room available.

Aniseed

If you love Indian food, you’ll love Aniseed. This modern restaurant is extremely stylish, and the food is absolutely fantastic. The space is intimate, so booking early is recommended as there are only a few tables available, but this just adds to the experience.

The restaurant is known for its excellent service, which is particularly important for business lunches in this bustling district. The staff are efficient and polite, but know not to be too overbearing, allowing you to enjoy your meal without feeling disturbed.

The dishes served include those you would expect such as westernised curries and tandoori dishes, alongside a range of specialty dishes including regional recipes with exotic flavours you may not be accustomed to.

Boisdale

Boisdale is a restaurant that specialises in British and Scottish food, and the creators’ mantra is ‘delicious food, fine wine, whisky, and cigars, set to the soundtrack of the best live blues, soul and jazz music in London’. If that doesn’t sound like the place to be, we don’t know what does!

The restaurant manages to blend traditional food with modern cooking to produce wonderful dishes that you won’t want to miss. You’ll find roast Dunfriesshire haggis with neeps and tatties on the menu, and line-caught Cornish cod-fillet amongst other incredible British dishes.

The venue itself is lively, with a whisky bar, alfresco terrace, oyster bar and grill, and even a cigar library. If you love live music, you’ll be treated to some while you dine, making it the perfect venue to head to for an evening of food and fun!
